This is an effort to reduce the spam on the site.

This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things.

To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy..

This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access.

Everyone needs to verify the email address in your profile is a legitimate and monitored email address.

This is imperative for several reasons.

The forum uses email notifications for several purposes, and is critical to daily events.

1. If you "watch" a Forum or a Thread, email notifications are sent to the email address you have in your profile.

2. If any "v8buick.com" system messages are sent to you, it will be that same email address you have on your profile.

3. All Private Messages (Conversations) will also send an email alert to the email address you have on your profile.

While you may not think this is a problem of you do not receive the alerts....

All of these messages that are sent to addresses that are no longer valid, "bounce" and this affects the forums "reputation". The v8buick.com emails are then blacklisted and many members mail systems will block emails to those that actually want to receive them and maintain active/monitored email accounts.

For this reason, please check the email address in your profile and update it.

If you choose not to do that, then "uncheck" all the options in "messaging Preferences" in your profile:

"Receive site mailings" "Accept conversations from..." " Receive email when a new conversation message is received"

And do not ever "Watch Threads, or Watch Posts".

I will create a conversation with anyone whos email's are bounced to update or provide me with an email address to update your account.

If I do not receive a reply in a reasonable time and after 2 notifications, your account may be temporarily banned, in order to get your attention.

The bottom line is that the few email addresses that are no longer valid, negatively affect the majority of the members.

This will be handled discreetly, your privacy respected and handled confidentially.
